Flexible engine mounts

Vetus flexible engine mountings are a vital part of an engine installation, suitable are suitable for new installations and replacement of older mountings.

The flexible mount enables the engine to absorb vibrations which would otherwise be transferred into the hull through the engine beds, causing unpleasant noice and vibrations.

To calculate which engine mount is required, the following formula may be used to calculate maximum loading:

Static Load: (Engine weight in kg ÷ number of supports)

Dynamic Load: (Engine horsepower x reduction of gearbox x 337) ÷
(centre to centre spacing of longitudinal engine mounts in metres x engine rpm)

Maximum load = Static Load + Dynamic Load
