Vacuum vent for waste tanks

Vetus VRF56A vacuum vent for waste water tanks, to enable sufficient air to enter the tank when it is being rapidly pumped out by a shoreside pump-out station.

If a waste tank is being rapidly emptied, usually by a shoreside pump-out, the volume of air entering the tank through the standard vent pipe may not be sufficient to prevent the pump's suction from collapsing the tank.

The VFR56A vacuum valve has a few flow area in excess of 1,100mm², enabling the waster tank installation to meet the ISO 8099 standard. It is installed into a 56mm hole (the same size as used for the extraction pipe).

Use of this valve avoids the potential need to fit a large diameter vent line, easing installation. The valve is made from synthetic materials and is corrosion-free.
