Stern thruster pod side extension kit

Side extension kit for Vetus stern thruster pods, for use in shallow draft boats where the thruster pod is not installed sufficiently deep.

It is sometimes not possible to install the stern thruster pod at a sufficient depth: ideally, the centreline of the propeller shaft should be at least as deep as the diameter of the tube. However, this may be prevented by, for example, the hull design being too shallow or the proximity of the rudder. 

In order to prevent the thruster from sucking air in and working inefficiently, the stern thruster pod side extension kit can be fitted to ensure that the openings remain under the water. 

The two shells are made of GRP. and are supplied with the necessary stainless steel fixings for installation. 

Stern thruster side extension kits are not usually stocked and as such, a lead time of 2-4 weeks will usually apply. Please contact us before ordering for availability information if your order is urgent.
